Rita is one of the co-founders of Gothenburg Media Hub and is an interim member of the board. She is in charge of the communications for the organisation, photographing, overseeing the graphics and social media for the organisation.
Rita Cruz is a Portuguese investigative journalist based in Sweden. She lives in Gothenburg, where she works as a freelance investigative reporter and as Nordic – Baltic correspondent for the Portugese news agency LUSA. Her work has covered a wide range of topics, including forest management in Europe, disinformation, and the far-right media landscape in Sweden. She has a particular interest in data journalism, especially geodata.
She studied investigative journalism at the University of Gothenburg and works in Portuguese, English, and Swedish.
