Media Sessions #5 – Keeping your audience engaged with solutions journalism

In a world where biases are deepening and audiences are increasingly drawn into cycles of doomscrolling, journalists are faced with a growing challenge: to report the truth while keeping audiences engaged in a constructive way. Solutions journalism offers one path forward, by combining the responsibility to inform with a focus on responses, context, and hope.

In our next Media Session event, we will be talking to Emma Löfgren, editor at The Local and freelance columnist for The Fix Media. Emma is a leading voice in solutions journalism and will bring valuable insight into how this approach can shape public discourse.

The conversation will explore how solutions journalism can play a meaningful role in the upcoming elections, as well as how The Local has applied it in reporting on migration politics.
