Are you a freelance journalist who is curious about data journalism? In this session, journalist Justin Yarga will share to integrate data journalism, mindset and tools, in daily reporting, in just a few steps.
Justin wants to help demystify data journalism, usually seen as “nerd journalism”, and scale it down to fit daily reporting and investigative projects.
He’ll go over how thinking like a data journalist can help freelances improve their reporting, through finding original stories to pitch, building evidence for the story and innovating in their storytelling.
About 15 – 20 minutes presentation, followed by open discussion / Q&A.
