DESCRIPTION:In a world where biases are deepening and audiences are increasingly drawn into cycles of doomscrolling\, journalists are faced with a growing challenge: to report the truth while keeping audiences engaged in a constructive way. Solutions journalism offers one path forward\, by combining the responsibility to inform with a focus on responses\, context\, and hope. \n  \nIn our next Media Session event\, we will be talking to Emma Löfgren\, editor at The Local and freelance columnist for The Fix Media. Emma is a leading voice in solutions journalism and will bring valuable insight into how this approach can shape public discourse. \n  \nThe conversation will explore how solutions journalism can play a meaningful role in the upcoming elections\, as well as how The Local has applied it in reporting on migration politics. \n  \nWhen and where: \n📅 Monday\, May 11th 2026\, at Göteborgs litteraturhus (Heurlinsplats 1b\, Gothenburg) \n🕠 Mingel with free coffee\, tea\, and snacks from 17:30 \n🎤Conversation with Emma between 18:00 and 19:00 \n🥂 Mingel after the session \n  \n✅ The session is free but requires registration: https://forms.gle/3mSVihPEMmeV7hC96 \n  \nThe event is open to everyone with an interest in solutions journalism\, and it will be held in English. \n  \nThe session is hosted by the Gothenburg Media Hub\, with the support of the Västra Frilans section of the Swedish Journalists’ Union\, who are contributing with food and drinks.
