Creating a hub where journalists and media creatives in Gothenburg meet, exchange ideas, and collaborate. If you work in the city and want to connect with peers, follow us and join the next gathering.

Who are we?

Gothenburg Media Hub is a nonprofit building a vibrant space for media professionals in Sweden’s second-largest city. Through our networking events and open house we help create meaningful connections across the industry, sparking new ideas and collaborations.

What do we do?

We are creating a place for journalists and media creatives to meet, discuss, and collaborate in the heart of Gothenburg.

One of our main projects is called  Gothenburg Media House, a long standing idea that finally took shape in 2025  thanks to partners who believe in it as much as we do. With the support of Publicistklubben (the Swedish journalists’association) and Göteborgs Litteraturhus, we took the first concrete step towards our goal of a dedicated space for the media community: a weekly open office for media professionals at  Litteraturhus.
If you’re a freelance journalist or work within media and culture, you’re welcome to join us. It’s free and open to everyone who wants to be part of a community of like-minded creatives and professionals. Once a week, you can sit, talk, and write together at Litteraturhus, with other media professionals.
We also organise regular afterworks for people within the media community in Gothenburg and the surrounding area. The concept is very simple: we find a venue, create a public event and invite people. Once we are there people hang out and mingle.
Occasionally, we host more structured events, such as panel discussions, like our recent one in collaboration with Publicistklubben Väst.
In 2026, we will continue to organize events and develop our ongoing projects. We will also be investing in skill-sharing and developing, through a series of workshops for media professionals (keep an eye on this page and / or our social media for updates).

Our Vision

Gothenburg Media Hub aims to become a gathering place for creators and media professionals, offering accessible facilities and supportive networks that help strengthen everyday production and creative work in the region. Building on Gothenburg’s established culture of cooperation and its growing media sector, the hub seeks to provide practical resources, foster knowledge exchange, and encourage new partnerships across journalism, television, digital media, and related fields.
