Who are we?
Gothenburg Media Hub is a nonprofit building a vibrant space for media professionals in Sweden’s second-largest city. Through our networking events and open house we help create meaningful connections across the industry, sparking new ideas and collaborations.
What do we do?
We’re creating a space for journalists and media creatives to meet and collaborate in Gothenburg.
- Gothenburg Media House: Weekly Open Office at Litteraturhus, free for all media professionals.
- Regular AfterWorks and events for networking.
- Media Session workshops and skill-sharing events.
- NORDIG: Building an investigative journalist cross-border network in the Nordic region

Our Vision
Gothenburg Media Hub aims to become a gathering place for creators and media professionals, offering accessible facilities and supportive networks that help strengthen everyday production and creative work in the region. Building on Gothenburg’s established culture of cooperation and its growing media sector, the hub seeks to provide practical resources, foster knowledge exchange, and encourage new partnerships across journalism, television, digital media, and related fields.

How it all started
Gothenburg Media Hub was officially registered as a non-profit organisation in Sweden in 2024 but our story starts in Ringö, mid September 2023.
The founding members met at a design sprint organised by a project called ‘The Circle Hubs‘ that organised similar initiatives in several European cities.
During two weeks in September 2023 the team met for the first time, many ideas were put on the table and thanks to the guidance of mentors from the Dutch publisher and non-profit Are We Europe we got the ideas rolling and hosted our first event a few months later to then officially take the step in registering an organisation.
The experience was invaluable towards creating this project and now organisation running several projects and we are grateful to maintain continued contact with Are We Europe, sister organisations and colleagues we spread across the continent.
